The Kelvinator Inverter Air Conditioner is a split-system room air conditioner designed for household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments, farmhouses, hotels, motels, other residential-type environments, and bed and breakfast establishments. It uses R32 difluoromethane refrigerant, a mildly flammable gas (class 2.2 according to AS 1677), and must be handled by a refrigeration mechanic with an appropriate Australian refrigerant handling license.

Function Description:

The air conditioner provides cooling, heating (for cooling & heating models only), dehumidifying, and fan-only modes. It features an inverter system for efficient operation. The unit can be controlled via a remote controller or a manual switch on the indoor unit. Some models are Wi-Fi compatible, allowing remote control via the "Kelvinator Home Comfort" app.

Usage Features:

Remote Control: The primary method of control, operating within 8 meters of the indoor unit. It features buttons for:

- DIRECT: Changes louver movement and sets desired up/down airflow direction (6° angle per press).
- LED: Disables/activates the indoor screen display.
- FOLLOW ME: Allows the indoor ambient temperature reading to be taken from the remote control. The remote sends signals every 3 minutes and cancels if no signal is received for 7 minutes.
- TURBO: Activates/disables Turbo function for fastest cooling or heating to preset temperature.
- SHORT CUT: Sets and activates favorite pre-settings.
- SELF CLEAN: Activates/disables the self-clean function.

Manual Operation: A manual switch on the indoor unit allows operation if the remote control fails. One press activates forced AUTO, two presses (within 5 seconds) activate forced COOL (displaying "FC"), which switches to AUTO mode after 30 minutes.
Airflow Directional Control:

- 8°C Heating Function: Activates when operating in heating mode at 17°C by pressing the Down button twice in one second, setting the unit to operate at 8°C (displaying "FP").
- Lock Operation: Pressing Turbo and Self Clean buttons simultaneously for one second locks/unlocks the keyboard.
- Refrigerant Leakage Detection: Indoor unit displays "EC" code if leakage is detected.
- Auto-restart Function: Automatically restarts and resumes previous operation after a power interruption.
- DRED Function (for specific models): The unit may display D1, D2, or D3 error codes, indicating normal operation of the Demand Response Enabling Device function initiated by the power provider to minimize grid demand.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning the Unit: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For heavy dirt, use a cloth soaked in warm water. Avoid chemical cleaners, benzine, thinner, polishing powder, or water hotter than 40°C.
Cleaning the Air Filter and Air Freshening Filter: Clean every 3 months or as required.
1. Open the front panel.
2. Move the filter up slightly, then towards you, and gently draw downwards to extract.
3. Unclip the small air freshening filter from the large air filter, clean with a vacuum, and replace occasionally.
4. Clean the large air filter with soapy water, rinse with fresh water, shake off excess water, and dry in a cool, shaded place.
Preparation for Extended Non-Operation:
1. Clean the indoor unit and filters.
2. Operate the fan for half a day to dry the inside of the unit.
3. Stop the unit and disconnect power.
4. Remove batteries from the remote controller.
5. Outdoor unit requires periodic maintenance and cleaning by a dealer or service provider.
Pre-season Inspection: Check for damaged wires, clean indoor unit and filters, check for water/oil leaks, ensure outdoor unit is clear of obstructions, and replace remote control batteries if flat.
Safety Precautions:
- Always turn off the system and disconnect power before cleaning or servicing.
- Do not touch metal parts when removing filters to avoid injury.
- Do not use water to clean inside the air conditioner to prevent electric shock.
- Ensure filters are securely inserted after cleaning.
