Ed Use the input selector to select the tuner.
£2 Use the BAND key to select the desired broadcast band.
Each press switches the band "AM" or “FM” indicator
as follows:

function” for information on receiving CATV broadcasts using the
VR-257.
£] Use the AUTO key to select the desired tuning method.
Each press switches the tuning method as follows:
- @ AUTO fit (auto tuning)
®. AUTO not fit (manuai tuning)

« Normaily. set to ‘AUTO" (auto tuning). if the radio waves are weak
and there is a lot of interference, switch to manual tuning. (With
manual tuning. stereo broadcasts will be received in monaural.)
* Onthe VR-257, the AUTO key functions as an auto sound on/off key
when the reception band is set to TV. For details, refer to the
separate "INSTRUCTION MANUAL for CATV tuner function.”
QZ] Use the MULTI CONTROL (TUNING/SKIP) to select the
Station.
Frequency Lights when a broadcast is
display being received in stereo.

when a station is received

Turn the knob (press the key) to select the
desired station.
Manual tuning :
«You can also use the TUNING key on the remote control (RC-
RO407) to make the selection.

ER Tune to the station you want to store.
E] Press the MEMORY key while receiving the station.
Lights for 5 seconds
Blinks for 5 seconds
Proceed to step & within 5 seconds.
(If more than 5 seconds elapse, press the MEMORY key again).
Ej Use the MULTI CONTROL to select one of the station
presets (1 - 40).
£] Press the MEMORY key to accept the setting.
e Repeat steps @, B, and @ to store as many stations as
necessary.
° if you store a station at a previously used preset, the old station will 3
‘ be replaced by the new one.
Receiving preset stations

Use the remote control to select the tuner as the source.
¢ The remote control switches to the tuner operating mode.
E32 Enter the number of the preset you want to receive (up to
"40").
Press the numeric keys in the following order:
For "15", press........-. 15!
For "20", press.......... ; {0}
* if you make a mistake entering a two digit number, press the +10
key several times to return to the original display and start again.
