Determine the dose that first cause erythema, and the dose is the
minimum phototoxic dose or the minimum erythema dose of the patient.
If there is severe erythema or blisters in the test site, topical
corticosteroids can be used.
For example, in Figure 4-6, the patient's skin type is III, and the patient
accepted the MED automated test by the equipment that emitting six
different doses of UVB automatically (for dose values, please refer to the
Table C-2 in Appendix C). After the test, it was judged that the third spot is
the first one to generate erythema, and the dose of the erythema is 150
mJ/cm
2
, that is, the MED value of the patient is 150 mJ/cm
2
