Communication Diagnostics
The PC109x control boards have Communication Status LEDs and a System Status LED, which indicate the
current communication status.
Communication Status LEDs
The CA250B, CA4500B, CA8500B, EC1500B, EC2500B, CB-485, and CPB-10-2 have communication LEDs for
diagnostics and troubleshooting. The table below outlines the LED and its diagnostic function. When calling
Keyscan technical support, indicating the LEDs state assists our technicians in isolating potential difficulties.

If jumper OFF J16 – pin 8, main processor sending data to on-board
supervised inputs processor and IOCB modules connected to TB2
Not Illuminated – Abnormal

Follow Restore Factory Defaults J1 procedure in attempt to resolve.
TD 1 - Green
Illuminated – Abnormal
condition
Follow Restore Factory Defaults J1 procedure in attempt to resolve.
Flashing: Normal If jumper ON J16 – pin 8, main processor receiving data from on-board
supervised inputs processor only
If jumper OFF J16 – pin 8, main processor receiving data from on-board
supervised inputs processor and IOCB modules connected to TB2
Not Illuminated – Abnormal

Follow Restore Factory Defaults J1 procedure in attempt to resolve
RD 1 - Red
Illuminated – Abnormal
condition
Follow Restore Factory Defaults J1 procedure in attempt to resolve
Flashing: Normal Control board sending global, inter-panel communication data to CM
module connected to H2 header
Not Illuminated: If CM module not connected to H2 header
If CM module not communicating
TD 2 – Green
Illuminated: Abnormal
condition
Follow Restore Factory Defaults J1 procedure in attempt to resolve
Flashing: Normal Control board receiving data from CM module connected to H2 header for
global, inter-panel communication
Not Illuminated: If CM module not connected to H2 header
If CM module not communicating
RD 2 – Red
Illuminated: Abnormal
condition
Possible fault on CM module
Possible wiring fault
