Power linearity performance verification
The power linearity performance verification measures the relative linearity error
of the E-Series E4412A and E4413A power sensor. All measurements are
performed at 50 MHz.
The reference power level for the linearity measurement is 0 dBm.
This performance verification requires the following equipment:
– Signal generator (N5182A)
– Reference sensor (E4412A)
– Power meter (E4416/7A)
– Power splitter (11667B/11667C)
–Amplifier
– Step attenuators (8494H and 8496H)
– Attenuator/switch driver (11713B)
– To protect the network analyzer receivers from being overloaded, configure
the network analyzer to turn off power if its receiver is overloaded.
– Depending on the amplifier being used, the test port power might not be
sufficient. In this case, a banded setup with different amplifiers covering
different frequency ranges might be required.
– The high power setup can be verified by performing the calibration and
measurement at low power level, and comparing the results to the data from
the low power setup without the amplifier.
– Use the fixed attenuators to lower the power seen by the network analyzer
receivers so that they are not in the compression region. The receiver A
attenuator can also be used to protect receiver A.
