Why does my KFI Winches motor run slowly?
    • J
      Jeffrey CarsonJul 29, 2025
If the KFI Winches motor runs slowly, or lacks normal power, it could be due to insufficient current or voltage. Try recharging the battery or running the winch with the vehicle motor running to ensure a strong charge. Also, check for loose or corroded battery cable connections; clean, tighten, or replace them if necessary.

How to troubleshoot a KFI A2000 motor that doesn't run but clicks?
    • J
      jennifermasonAug 3, 2025
If the motor of your KFI Winches does not run but the contactor makes a clicking sound, the wiring may be incorrect. Check the winch wiring diagram to ensure all wires are correctly connected. The hand remote/mini rocker switch wires must be connected green to green and black to black. Also, hand tighten nuts on all cable connections to fix loose battery cable connections. If the problem persists, it may be due to water in the motor; allow it to drain and dry, then run it in short bursts with a load until completely dry.

      Paul TaylorAug 18, 2025
If the KFI Winches motor does not run and there is no click sound from the contactor, check the winch wiring diagram to ensure all wires are correctly connected. Also, check the connection to an ignition fed source to ensure it supplies 12V with the key on and the vehicle running.

Why does my KFI A2000 Winches spool turn in one direction only?
    • C
      Christina HaysAug 22, 2025
If the motor of your KFI Winches runs, but the spool turns in only one direction, check the wiring diagram and verify that the switch wires (black/green) are properly connected and making good contact. You can also try tapping the contactor to loosen the plungers. If the issue persists, consider replacing the switch assembly.
