When your Kidde Smoke Alarm reaches the end of its life, push and release the Test/Hush button to temporarily silence it. Following this, remove the unit, discharge and dispose of it properly, and replace it as soon as possible.
What to do if my Kidde P4010ACS is in fault mode?
If your Kidde Smoke Alarm is in fault mode, first refer to the Cleaning Your Alarm section. Then, push the Test/Hush button once to attempt to reset the unit. The red LED will blink an error code (number of blinks) when the Test/Hush button is pushed and released. If needed, report the number of blinks to customer service.
