      When your Kidde Smoke Alarm reaches the end of its life: * Push/release the Test/Hush button to temporarily silence it (see the End of Unit Life Hush Mode section). * Remove, discharge, and dispose of the unit, then replace it as soon as possible.

      When your Kidde Smoke Alarm is in End of Unit Life Hush® Mode (after pushing/releasing the Test/Hush® button during End of Life): * Remove, discharge, dispose of the unit, and replace it as soon as possible. * 7 days after End of Unit Life chirps begin, the red LED will blink an error code (number of blinks) when the Test/Hush® button is pushed/released once. Report the number of blinks to customer service if needed.
