Safety Instructions
Installation of the hydraulic pump and, especially work to be done on the hydraulic system
itself should be left up to your boatyard or to a specialist in the field.
Be sure to wear appropriate work clothes. Don’t wear any lose- fitting garnments which
may get caught on moving parts. If you wear your hair long, use a hairnet for protection.
Before beginning any installation, be sure to disconnect the negative lead from the battery
in order to saveguard against shorts which may cause cable fires, battery explosions and
consequential damage to other electronic storage systems.
While carrying out work on the onboard electronics, you must not wear any metallic or
conductive jewelry such as rings, necklaces and bracelets.
Electric outputs of the autopilot and any electric lines connected thereto will have to be
protected so as to prevent their being touched directly and their being damaged.
To guard against danger, the electrical leads need to have sufficiant insulation/ electric
strength, and the contact points need to be shockproof.
