Overview

This document describes the King Canopy Event Tent, model ET2020G, a temporary outdoor shelter designed for various events.

Function Description

The King Canopy Event Tent serves as a temporary outdoor shelter, providing shade and protection from light weather conditions such as sun, light rain, tree sap, birds, etc. It is not intended for use as a permanent structure or for protection against severe weather conditions like strong winds, heavy rain, snow, or ice. The tent is designed for quick assembly and disassembly, making it suitable for temporary events.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Dimensions: 20ft Wide x 20ft Deep x 6ft 9in Side Height / 12ft 4in Center Height.
  • Frame Components:
    • 16 pieces of 77.5" x 2" Pipe (6X6-2PC)
    • 9 pieces of 77.5" x 1 1/2" Pipe (6X6-15PC)
    • 8 pieces of 50" Swedge pipe (4X2-2PC)
    • 6 pieces of 3-way connectors (3W215PC)
    • 6 pieces of 4-way connectors (4W215PC)
  • Cover: 1 piece of Green/White PE Cover with Leg Skirts (T2020ETG). The cover fabric meets flammability requirements of CPAI-84 & NFPA 701 but is not fireproof and will burn if in continuous contact with a flame source.
  • Legs: 8 legs, formed by eight 77.5" x 2" pipes.
  • Anchoring: Requires an anchoring system (not included) to prevent the canopy from acting like a kite in the wind. Anchors should be installed at least 36 inches from each leg.
  • Accessories:
    • 48 pieces of Elastic ball straps (BALLW) for securing the cover.
    • 8 pieces of Foot pads (PFOOT2) for the legs. These footpads are not for anchoring the canopy but can accommodate large nails for ground insertion to prevent sliding.

Usage Features

  • Assembly:
    • Frame Assembly: Begins by separating all pieces by size and shape. The roof rafters are formed using 50" x 2" and 77.5" x 2" pipes, while the sides and peak use 77.5" x 1 1/2" pipes. Assembly starts with the center frame, then proceeds to each side.
    • Cover Attachment: The cover should be attached before inserting the leg poles. The cover is unfolded with grommets toward the bottom and placed over the frame. Elastic ball straps are used to secure the cover: the elastic cord is inserted through the grommet, pulled taut, and wrapped around the pole and under the ball to hide it. Straps are attached starting at the four corners (2 per corner), then in a zigzag pattern along both sides, and finally at the front and back.
    • Leg Assembly: Leg poles are connected to the 3-way and 4-way connectors on the roof assembly after the cover is in place. Foot pads are pushed onto the bottom of each leg. Leg skirts are attached to the foot pads by removing an eye bolt, attaching the skirt's ring, and re-screwing the eye bolt. The adjustment strap on the skirt should be tightened without overtightening to avoid damage.
  • Anchoring: Crucial for stability. The canopy must be securely anchored to the ground immediately after assembly. Anchor cables or ropes (not included) are tied around the connectors at the top of each leg and then secured through the eye of ground anchors (not included). Anchors should be screwed into the ground until their eye is flush with the ground, ensuring the rope is tight. Regular checking and tightening of ropes are recommended to maintain stability.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Keep all flame and heat sources away from the tent fabric.
    • Do not cook, store flammable liquids, or ignite/store fireworks underneath or near the canopy.
    • Do not allow rainwater, snow, or ice to accumulate on the cover.
    • Do not hang or suspend anything from the frame, grommets, truss system, or ball straps.
    • Remove the canopy cover before a storm or disassemble the entire unit if severe winds are expected.
    • This is a temporary structure and not recommended for permanent use.
    • Do not set up on a steep incline or in windy, rainy, or snowy conditions.
    • Never leave the canopy unattended.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • Do not use bleach, dry clean, or machine wash the cover.
    • Hand wash the cover with mild soap and water only. It is recommended to clean the canopy while it is open and without the legs extended, using a brush.
    • Do not use harsh detergents or abrasives.
  • Storage:
    • Store the canopy dry to prevent mildew.
    • For best results and to avoid small tears, the top should be removed and stored in a carry bag after each use.
  • Strap Adjustment: The elastic ball straps can be shortened for a tighter fit by making an additional knot in the cord strap. Slide the ball up, tie a new knot above the old one (determining the new strap length), and then slide the ball back down to secure it.
  • Warranty:
    • 1-Year Limited Warranty: Covers defects in material and workmanship for all canopy components (90-day limited for Value King Brand items). Requires proof of purchase and photos of the defective part for claims.
    • Missing/Defective Parts (within 30 days): Report discrepancies within 30 days of purchase. Free ground shipping for replacement parts. Damages from improper anchoring, strong winds, snow, ice, or rain are not covered.
    • Non-Warranty Replacement Parts: Available for purchase after warranty expiration. Contact customer service for assistance.
  • Returns: All returns require a Return Authorization (RA) number and must be submitted within 30 days of the purchase date. Returns without an RA number or after 30 days will not be accepted. Credits are issued upon receipt and inspection, minus a 25% restocking fee and shipping/handling if damages or excessive wear are found.
