TURNING OFF AND STORING THE COOKER AFTER USE
NEVER MOVE THE COOKER OR POT WHILE IN USE OR STILL HOT [ABOVE
100°F (38°C)].
1. After each use turn OFF the King Kooker® at the manual valve(s) first, then at the gas cylinder valve.
Check to make sure there is no flame and all valves are off. Do not leave the cooker until it has cooled
completely. When removing food from the cooker wear protective mitts.
2. Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder by turning the Type 1 fitting counterclockwise until the
regulator is separated from the tank.
3. Storage of this cooker indoors is permissable only if the cylinder is disconnected and removed from the
cooker. Do not use or store cylinder in a building, garage or enclosed area. Read and follow all cylinder
manufacturer’s instructions. The cylinder must be stored out of the reach of children at all times. Keep
entire unit in area to avoid insects and contamination that can clog the venturi tube.
4. To prepare the unit for storage follow the below instructions. Locate the locking bracket and bolt
supplied in the package. After the cooker has completely cooled, remove the windguard shield and
legs. Lay the cooker on a flat surface with the cooking side up. Place the four legs across the top of
the cooker frame. The legs should be oriented with two leg pads facing the left side and the other two
leg pads facing the right side of the cooker frame. Refer to the diagram below. Insert the foot pad of
each leg into the windguard clip nearest it on the cooker frame, one leg per clip. On three burner
models the leg pads oriented towards the right side of the frame will be able to be inserted into the
windshield clips, but the legs whose footpads are oriented to the left side will be held in place by the
cooker frame as these legs will not reach the windguard clips. Fold in both sides of the windguard and
place the windguard into the space between both sets of legs. Align the hole in the windguard with the
hole in the square plate located near the center of the cooker frame. The locking bracket should be
oriented so that the flat side is facing up and the side with the two prongs is facing down to encase
both sets of legs and the windguard. Place the locking bracket over the legs with the hole in the
locking bracket aligned with the hole in the windguard and with the hole in the square plate located
near the center of the cooker frame to hold the legs and windguard in place. Insert the threaded end of
the bolt downward through the hole in the locking bracket and continuing through the hole in the
windguard and into the threaded hole in the square plate located near the center of the cooker frame.
Tighten the wing nut end of the bolt by hand so that the four legs and the windguard are securely
fastened within the prongs, between the locking bracket and the cooker. Make sure the wing nut is
tightly fastened so that the positions of the legs do not move while in the storage module. The handle
should be used to carry the cooker when the legs and windguard are assembled within the storage
module. NEVER CARRY THE COOKER BY THE MANIFOLD.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS COULD RESULT IN FIRE,
EXPLOSION, BURN HAZARD OR CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING WHICH COULD CAUSE
PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
