1. Be careful not to run the starting mo-
tor longer than 10 seconds due to
its heavy current consumption.
2. If it is not started in 10 seconds stop
operating it more than 30 seconds
and then repeat the operating pro-
cedure.
3. Prior to restarting, be sure that the
ywheel is completely stopped.
4. For manual preheating, turn and
hold the key from ON to preheat po-
sition.
GLOW PLUG INDICATOR (PRE-
HEATING INDICATOR)
When the starter switch is turned to
the left, the glow plug indicator be-
comes red. This shows the condi-
tion of preheating in the combustion
chamber.

7. DEPRESS THE CLUTCH PEDAL.
8. TURN THE KEY TO “START” PO-
SITION AND RELEASE WHEN
THE ENGINE STARTS.
Because of the safety device,
the engine may not be start-
ed except when the clutch is
disengaged.
IMPORTANT
When ambient temperatures
are colder, a longer pre-heat
time is necessary.
NOTE
Do not operate the starter
motor continuously for more
than 10 seconds.
If the engine does not start;
turn the switch to “OFF”, wait
30 seconds, and repeat the
starting procedure.
Never engage the starter mo-
tor before the engine stops
turning.
WARNING
The engine will not start un-
less the range gear shift lever
(Hi-Lo) and the P.T.O clutch le-
ver are in the "OFF" position.
