Try moving the trimmer head to cut grass no more than 8 inches in a single pass, then remove the trimmer head from the grass and restart the tool. Lastly, the battery pack or string trimmer might be too hot. In this case, release the trigger switch, allow the tool to cool down, and then try starting it again.
