NOTE: Before installing ywheel make sure crankshaft taper and ywheel hub are clean, dry, and completely free of
any lubricants. Presence of lubricants can cause ywheel to be over stressed and damaged when screw is
torqued to speci cations.
NOTE: Make sure ywheel key is installed properly in keyway. Flywheel can become cracked or damaged if key is
not properly installed.
NOTE: High output charging system ywheel (identi ed by 4 large cooling holes) has very strong magnets. Magnet
assembly guard on interior of this ywheel has a thin, sharp edge. Wear protective gloves when handling this
ywheel.
1. Install woodru key into keyway of crankshaft. Make sure key is properly seated and parallel with shaft taper.
2. Install ywheel onto crankshaft being careful not to shift woodru key. ETB ECH EFI engines with high output
charging system have a ywheel with very strong magnets. Wear protective gloves and use a ywheel puller to
help line up ywheel and crankshaft before magnets pull ywheel into place.
3. Install screw and washer.
