18 HP, K361
So, let me begin by
introducing
our
18 HP, overr.eac
valve
engine
,
the
<~61.
The K361 is a large bore,
short
stroke
engine
ana has
the same
crankshaft
height
and
mounting
patt erns
as the engines in
our
10 - 16 HP models.
It's
always
exciting
when
you
can add
something
new
and
important
to
your
list of
products
,
but
when
you
can
introduce
four
new
state-of-the-art
eng nes
at
one
time
, well,
that
is
something
quite
special.
Designing
our
new engines
for
industrial,
constuc-
tion, and lawn and
garden
applications,
we began,
as always, by
considering
what
the ultimate
customer
wants and needs.
NEW MODELS
Cust
omers
want
to be
comfortable
when they
operate
their
equipment.
They
want
durability
and
d
ependability
in
their
product.
They
certainly
want
their
equipment
to be easy to service. Com fort,
durability
and ease of service have always been
our
quide,
and the
new
additions
to
the
Kohler
line r ieet
these ideas
squarely
.
We've been meeting
those
wants and needs
lor
a
long
time
and we
find
they
haven't changed
much
over
the years.
We're
calling
it
our
Power
Play, and that's a pretty
good
description
of Kohler's
introduction
of .our
new
models
to
our
line of 4-cycle, air
cooled
engines.
The
primary
difference
in
configuration
is this ,ittle
box
at the
top
of the
engine
which
houses
our
overhead valve assembly.
As
I said, Model K361
offers
an
honest
18 HP in the
space
that
once
provided
10 - 16 HP. You can
imagine
the
possibilities
for
powering-up
many
applications.
Basically, we're
providing
twin-
cylinder
power
in a
single-cylinder
engine
.
The
K361 is
designed
to
draw
air
for
combustion
from
inside
the
blower
housing
,
making
it
quieter
to
run and
allowing
installation
inside
an
enclosure
.
Of
course
, being of overhead valve design, it has
some
special advantages. It's
cooler
running
tr an a
conventional
engine.
Ease of service?
This
engine
features the same
convenient
service
points
as
the
10 - 16 HP series.
And
it has
outstanding
low-end
torque
.
Also standard on the K361 are balance geal
s to
reduce
the
vibration
to a level
comparable
with
Kohler's
14 and 16 HP engines. That's a big step in
adding
to
operator
comfort.
So in the K361 we're
presenting
a package
that
gives
you
18 HP in a
tiny
fraction
more
space that
you
need
for
16 HP. We're
giving
two-cylinder
power
at a
single-cylinder
price
. It's a
smooth
running,
quiet,
dependable
engine
that we at
Kohler
are
quite
proud
of.
