NOTE:
Never
operate
the
engine
with
the
oil
level
below
“1”
mark
or
over
“F”
mark
on
dipstick.
Oil
Sentry™
Some
engines
are
equipped
with
optional
Oil
Sentry™
oil
pressure
monitor.
Oil
Sentry™
will
either
stop
the
engine
or
activate
a
“low
oil"
waming
light,
if
the
oil
pressure
gets
low.
Actual
Oil
Sentry™
use
will
vary
depending
on
the
engine
application.
NOTE:
Oil
Sentry™
is
not
a
substitute
for
checking
oil
level
BEFORE
EACH
USE.
Make
sure
the
oil
level
is
maintained
up
to
the
"F"
mark
on
dipstick.
CHANGE
OIL
For
a
new
engine,
change
oil
after
the
first
5
hours
of
operation.
Thereafter,
change
oil
as
specified
in
the
"Oil
Change
Intervals”
table.
For
an
overhauled
engine
or
those
rebullt
with
a
new
short
block,
use
straight
30-weight
Service
Class
SF
or
SG
oil
for
the
first
5
hours
of
operation.
Change
the
oil
after
this
initial
run-in
period.
Thereaf-
ter,
change
the
oil
as
specified
in
the
"Oil
Change
In-
tervals”
table.
Drain
oil
while
the
engine
is
still
warm
from
operation.
The
oil
will
flow
more
freely
and
carry
away
more
im-
purities.
Change
oil
as
follows:
1.
Remove
the
oil
drain
plug
and
dipstick.
Refer
to
Figure
3-2.
Tilt
the
engine
slightly
towards
the
drain
hole
to
obtain
better
drainage.
