Why won't my kozy heat CHASKA 29-ROCK Indoor Fireplace pilot light?
    • L
      leonardarielJul 31, 2025
The pilot light might not ignite due to a few reasons. First, ensure the appliance has electrical power or that the battery backup is functioning. If using a battery backup, make sure the batteries are fully charged. Also, check for any wiring disconnections, referring to the wiring schematic (Figure 10.1 on page 24) to confirm all connections are secure and correct. Finally, verify that the gas supply is turned on by checking any remote shut-off valves near the main gas line, as there may be more than one valve between the appliance and the main gas line.

What to do if my Kozy Heat Indoor Fireplace pilot flame always on, or will not extinguish?
    • M
      Mike Rodriguez DDSAug 4, 2025
If the pilot flame remains on or won't extinguish, there are several potential causes. First, check if the control system is set to CPI mode and switch it to IPI (see Section 11.8.3 on page 28). Ensure the ON/OFF rocker switch is in the ON position. Verify the gas supply is turned on, checking for multiple shut-offs in the supply line. If the gas supply is low, consult with a plumber or gas supplier and check the LP (propane) tank, refilling if necessary. Inspect for faulty or incorrect wiring. Remove any blockage from the main burner orifice. Ensure the pilot flame is properly directed to ignite the burner (see pilot flame troubleshooting above). Finally, replace the batteries in the remote control if it is not working properly.

Why does my Kozy Heat Indoor Fireplace pilot not stay lit?
    • P
      Pamela WuAug 9, 2025
Several factors can cause the pilot light to go out. Check the LP (propane) tank and refill if necessary. Low gas pressure, possibly due to a bent line, narrow pipe diameter, or low line pressure, can also be the cause, in which case you should consult a plumber or gas supplier. Make sure the pilot flame makes good contact with the flame rectification sensor on the pilot assembly. Adjust the pilot flame by turning the pilot adjustment screw on the gas valve clockwise to decrease the flame and counterclockwise to increase it. Finally, ensure the pilot adjustment screw is sealed, but do not overtighten it.

What to do if kozy heat CHASKA 29-ROCK pilot and burner extinguish while in operation?
    • M
      melissamontgomeryAug 13, 2025
If the pilot and burner extinguish during operation, check the LP (propane) tank and refill if necessary. Refer to Section 9.1 Glass Frame Assembly on page 21 regarding the correct glass assembly installation. Adjust the vent cap installation if it's incorrect. Remove any debris blocking the vent cap. Check for exhaust vent pipe leaks that might be allowing exhaust gases back into the firebox and repair if necessary.

Why does soot appear on the glass of my kozy heat CHASKA 29-ROCK Indoor Fireplace?
    • G
      gregorystantonAug 17, 2025
Soot on the glass can result from improper rock placement (refer to Section 9.2 Rock Kit Installation on page 22). The venturi air shutter may need adjustment to allow more air into the gas mix (refer to Section 12.2.1.1 Venturi Adjustment on page 32). Also, ensure correct vent cap installation and remove any debris from the vent cap if it's blocked.

    Laura FischerAug 21, 2025
Why does the flame burn blue and lift off burner on my kozy heat CHASKA 29-ROCK Indoor Fireplace?
    • S
      Sherry HayesAug 21, 2025
If the flame burns blue and lifts off the burner, the venturi air shutter may need to be opened slightly to allow more air into the gas mix. Refer to Section 12.2.1.1 Venturi Adjustment on page 32. Check for correct vent cap installation. Inspect the vent pipes for leaks and the vent cap for debris, repairing any leaks or removing debris as needed.

What to do if my kozy heat CHASKA 29-ROCK has no reaction to command?
    • C
      carolyn86Aug 26, 2025
If the appliance isn't responding to commands, try replacing the batteries in the battery backup or the remote control. If that doesn't work, reprogram the remote control to the IFC module (see Section 11.2 on page 26). If a maximum number of failed ignitions or flame restorations has been reached, reset the IFC module (see Section 11.6 on page 27).
