What to do if the main burner flame will not light on my Kozy Heat Indoor Fireplace?
    • S
      Samuel AdamsAug 12, 2025
If the main burner flame won't light, several factors could be at play. First, make sure the gas supply is turned on by checking for shut-offs in the supply line. If the gas supply is low, consult a plumber or gas supplier and check/refill the propane tank if necessary. Ensure the ON/OFF rocker switch is in the OFF position. Also, examine the wiring for disconnections or improper connections. If there's a blockage in the main burner orifice, remove it. Confirm the pilot flame is correctly directed to ignite the burner. If you're using a remote control, try replacing the batteries and ensure the remote control is powered ON and the thermostat operation is turned OFF.

What to do if the pilot will not light on my Kozy Heat Indoor Fireplace?
    • D
      David MartinAug 15, 2025
If the pilot light won't ignite, start by ensuring that electrical power to the appliance is restored or use a battery backup. Check for any wiring disconnections and use the wiring schematic to confirm all connections are secure and correct. If using a battery backup, ensure the batteries are fully charged. Verify that the ON/OFF/REMOTE selector switch is in the ON or REMOTE mode. Check that the gas supply is turned on by inspecting remote shut-off valves near the main gas line. Finally, confirm that the LP/NG switch on the control system is set to the correct gas fuel type.

Why does the pilot and burner extinguish while in operation on my kozy heat SLAYTON-60 Indoor Fireplace?
    • C
      Claudia ShawAug 20, 2025
Several factors can cause the pilot and burner to extinguish during operation. Check the propane tank and refill if necessary. Ensure correct installation of the glass assembly. Make sure the vent cap is correctly installed and free from blockages. Verify the horizontal venting has a ¼ inch rise per foot. Inspect the exhaust vent pipe for leaks, and repair if needed. The restrictor setting may need adjustment.

What to do if the pilot will not stay lit on my kozy heat SLAYTON-60 Indoor Fireplace?
    • B
      Betty FloresAug 23, 2025
If the pilot light won't stay lit, first check the propane tank and refill it if necessary. Low gas pressure could also be the culprit, so consult a plumber or gas supplier, as this can be due to a bent line, a pipe with too narrow a diameter, or low line pressure. Also, make sure the pilot flame is making contact with the flame rectification sensor on the pilot assembly, enveloping the top of the flame sensor and extending far enough onto the burner for ignition.

Why does soot appear on the glass of my kozy heat SLAYTON-60?
    • M
      martinezmarcusAug 27, 2025
Soot appearing on the glass can be due to several reasons. Check the glass media placement. The venturi air shutter may need slight opening to allow more air into the gas mix. Inspect the vent cap for blockages and ensure it's correctly installed. Remove any debris if necessary.

What to do if there is no reaction to command on my Kozy Heat Indoor Fireplace?
    • B
      Brett GreenAug 31, 2025
If your fireplace isn't responding to commands, start by replacing the batteries in the battery backup or remote control. If that doesn't work, there may be no communication between the remote control and the control module. If a maximum number of failed ignitions or flame restorations has been reached, reset the Komfort 8K1 control module.

Why is the pilot flame always on, or will not extinguish on my Kozy Heat Indoor Fireplace?
    • K
      Kimberly WeberSep 3, 2025
If the pilot flame is always on or won't extinguish, the control system might be set to Pilot-on-Demand ignition mode. You should set the control system to intermittent pilot ignition mode.

Why does the flame burn blue and lift off burner on my Kozy Heat Indoor Fireplace?
    • D
      David GarciaSep 7, 2025
If the flame burns blue and lifts off the burner, it could be due to an improper venturi setting, meaning the venturi air shutter may need to be opened slightly to allow more air into the gas mix. Another potential cause is incorrect vent cap installation. Also, check the vent pipes for leaks and the vent cap for debris, repairing the vent pipes or removing debris from the vent cap if necessary.
