nally, stick on the 2nd outer surface. If you
have chosen to install an auxiliary drive, now
saw out the recess for the propeller along the
marking. Finally, you can profile the rudder
accordingly from both sides.
Then prepare the rudder tubes.
Bend the brass pipe at one end into the shape
of the rudder.
Next, put together the lower rudder bearing
using a 5 x 35 x 0.5 mm brass strip. Please
see the appendix for a drawing.
4. Additional work on the hull
Next, mark and drill the mounting holes for the
rudder bearing.
Sand off the keel where necessary for better
placement of the rudder bearing.
Now insert the rudder.
In the next step, slide the prepared rudder tube
over the rudder shaft.
The rudder tubes should protrude around 1
mm out of the hull so that the rotary movement
does not take place on the glass-fibre rein-
forced plastic material of the hull, but rather on
the brass of the rudder tubes.
