Button Description / General Functions
This warning sign appears on the control panel when there is a problem with the operation of
the machine. For example when there is insucient water or coee beans or when maintenance
is needed.
Press before drink selection to make double the amount. The selection is marked by 2 backlit
cups.
Allows you to access maintenance: rinsing, cleaning and descaling. The chosen maintenance is
backlit.
Allows you to access the “Favourites” menu and your recorded recipes / After a drink is made,
it allows you to save a favourite. You can save 2 favourites: A and B. The selected favourite is
marked by A or B being backlit.
Our touchscreen interface and its buttons illuminate in an intuitive way to facilitate the use of the machine.
Light status Meaning
Unlit button The corresponding function is not selected/is not available
Button glowing (faintly illuminated and ashing
slowly)
An action with the selected function is in progress
Flashing light button An action will be performed
Lit button/bright light The function has been selected
Your intuition machine has smart, bright technology to make your everyday life easier. The machine automatically detects
and monitors the bean, water and ground coee levels.
When you need to ll or empty your containers, a light alert will guide you.
If maintenance is required, the "alert" LED
appears on the touch screen and one or more of the three light strips will
light up:

INTUITIVE LIGHT ALERTS
SWITCHING ON THE MACHINE
Danger: Connect the appliance to a grounded 230 V socket. Otherwise, you expose yourself to fatal injuries due to
the presence of electricity!

Respect the safety information stated in the leaet “Safety information”. Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant
surface that is clean and dry. Priming the machine allows the water circuits to be lled, so that the machine can operate.
Preheating and automatic rinsing will take place. For more information, see chapter 1 "1ST USE" of the quick start guide
- g 1 to 14. Once you have nished setting it up, the machine automatically chooses a recipe by default.

PUTTING THE MACHINE ON STANDBY
Depending on the preparation, the machine performs automatic rinsing when it is put on standby. The cycle lasts only a
few seconds and stops automatically.
Hints and Tips
The quality of the water strongly inuences the quality of the aromas. Limescale and chlorine can alter the taste
of coee. To preserve all the aromas of your coee, we recommend that you use a KRUPS Claris Aqua Filter System
cartridge, with dry residue below 800 mg/ L (see label on bottle). See chapter of the manual: "INSTALLING THE

When preparing drinks we recommend using preheated cups (by passing them under hot water) whose size is adapted
to your desired quantity.
The roasted coee beans can lose their aroma if they are not protected. We advise you to use the amount of beans
equivalent to your consumption over the next 2-3 days and to choose 250 g bags.
The quality of coee beans is variable and tastes are subjective. Arabica will give you ne, oral aromas unlike Robusta
which is higher in caeine, more bitter and full-bodied. It is common to mix the two types of coee to get a more
balanced coee. Please do not hesitate to seek advice from your roaster.
We do not recommend the use of oily and caramelised beans as these can damage the machine.
The neness of the ground beans inuences the strength of the aromas and the quality of the crema. The more nely
ground the beans, the smoother the crema. Grinding can also be adapted for the desired drink.
INSTALLING THE FILTER
WHY INSTALL A FILTER CARTRIDGE?
The KRUPS Claris Aqua Filter System cartridge helps to optimise the taste of your coee, to limit the build-up of limescale
and to reduce maintenance operations. To ensure that your machine has a long life, we recommend that you use a lter
cartridge. This accessory is available from the KRUPS.fr website.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE THE KRUPS CLARIS AQUA FILTER SYSTEM CARTRIDGE?
– 2 months after installation.
– We advise that, when you install your cartridge, you turn the grey ring at the far end of the lter cartridge
to show the date of installation + 2 months.
