Condition
The engine is cold.

โ Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.
โ Remove the radiator cap.
โ Check the coolant level in the radiator.

โ Correct the coolant level.

โ Mount the radiator cap.
15.7 Draining the coolant
Warning
Danger of scaldingโDuring motorcycle operation, the coolant gets very hot and is under pressure.
โ Do not open the radiator, the radiator hoses or other cooling system components if the engine or the
cooling system are at operating temperature.
โ Allow the cooling system and the engine to cool down before you open the radiator, the radiator hoses
or other components of the cooling system.
โ In the event of scalding, rinse the area affected immediately with lukewarm water.
Warning
Danger of poisoningโCoolant is toxic and a health hazard.
โ Keep coolant out of the reach of children.
โ Do not allow coolant to come into contact with the skin, the eyes and clothing.
โ Consult a doctor immediately if coolant is swallowed.
โ Rinse the affected area immediately with plenty of water in the event of contact with the skin.
โ Rinse eyes thoroughly with water and consult a doctor immediately if coolant gets into the eyes.
โ Change clothing if coolant spills onto your clothing.

โ Place an appropriate container under the water pump cover.

. Take off radiator cap

โ Completely drain the coolant.

Mount and tighten screw

with a new seal ring.
