Detach retaining tab

. Remove air filter with air filter sup-
port.
– Take off air filter from air filter support.
11.25 Cleaning the air filter and air filter box
Note
Environmental hazard Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.
– Dispose of oils, grease, filters, fuel, cleaning agents, brake fluid, etc., correctly and in compliance with
the applicable regulations.
Info
Do not clean the air filter with fuel or petroleum since these substances attack the foam.
Preparatory work
– Remove the air filter box cover. ( p. 62)
– Remove the air filter. ( p. 63)

Main work
– Wash the air filter thoroughly in special cleaning liquid and
allow it to dry properly.
Air filter cleaner ( p. 143)
Info
Only press the air filter to dry it, never wring it out.
– Oil the dry air filter with a high-grade air filter oil.
Oil for foam air filter ( p. 143)
– Clean the air filter box.
– Clean the intake flange and check it for damage and tightness.
Finishing work
– Install the air filter. ( p. 65)
– Install the air filter box cover. ( p. 63)
