Replacing the fuel filter
• Open the engine compartment cover (page 91).
• Turn the cock (2) to the OFF position.
Place a cleaning cloth under the fuel filter to
prevent fuel from spilling on the ground.
• Remove the fuel filter (1).
• Wet the rubber seal of the new filter with fuel.
• Manually screw in the new filter.
• Turn the cock (figure above, position 2) back to the ON position.
• Bleed the fuel system (page 88).
Cleaning the water separator
• Open the engine compartment cover (page 91).
• Turn the cock (3) to the OFF position.
Place a cleaning cloth under the water separator to
prevent fuel from spilling on the ground.
• Remove the filter cup retainer (1) while holding the cup (2).
• Remove the cup.
• Empty the cup and clean it with clean diesel fuel.
