Oil change:
The cutterbar
- Using two wedges of different height, rest the
cutterbar unit higher on opposite side of drain plug.
- Place a container of sufficient capacity under the
lower cutterbar end.
- Remove 3 bolts (1).
- Remove outer bracket (2) and its seal.
- Allow oil to drain completely.
- Wait for dripping to stop.
- Clean and reassemble the unit:
• Torque: 9.5 daN m (70 lbf ft).
- If necessary replace seal.
- Place the cutterbar in horizontal position.
- Remove plugs (1) and their seals.
- Pour prescribed oil quantity and quality in the cutter
bar:
• h: 2 to 3 mm (0.08’’ - 0.11’’).
- Top up if necessary.
- Clean and reinstall filler plugs (1) and their seals.
Replace if necessary.
Before draining oil, operate the machine for a
few minutes so that the oil warms up.
FC302G - FC302GI:
The cutterbar is lubricated with 2.00 L (0.53 US gal) of extreme-pressure gear oil with viscosity grade
SAE 80W and API grade GL4.
FC352G:
The cutterbar is lubricated with 2.25 L (0.59 US gal) of extreme-pressure gear oil with viscosity grade
SAE 80W and API grade GL4.
When draining and refilling, it is recommended to use either a mineral base oil with viscosity grade
SAE 80W and API grade GL4, or a synthetic base oil, type PAO (Poly-Alpha-Olefins) with a viscosity
grade equivalent to SAE 80W.
In certain countries SAE 80W GL4 oil may not be available. In this case a GL4 or GL5 grade SAE 80W90
oil is an acceptable substitute for GL4 SAE 80W oil.
Never use an oil of viscosity SAE 90 in the
cutterbar.
