Overview

The Sensor Master III is a multi-sensor pedometer watch designed to provide comprehensive outdoor and personal activity data. It features a range of electronic sensors that measure and display various outdoor conditions, as well as essential information about your body during exercise.

Function Description

Timekeeping Mode: The watch displays current time, including hour, minute, second, AM/PM, month, and date. It also shows the day of the week, weather forecast, temperature, and either sea level pressure history or altitude history. The time system can be set to either 12-hour or 24-hour format, and it supports Daylight Saving Time (DST). An auto-calendar is pre-programmed from the year 2000 to 2099.

Daily Alarm Mode: The device includes two independent daily alarms and an hourly chime. When an alarm is set, the watch will sound at the preset time every day for 30 seconds. The hourly chime beeps once every hour when activated.

Timer Mode: The countdown timer offers a 1-second resolution and can be set for a range of up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds. It includes quick-set values (1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 45 minutes) and a user-defined target time. The timer provides various beeping alerts: once every minute for the last 10 minutes, once every 10 seconds for the last minute, once every second for the last 5 seconds, and for 30 seconds when the timer reaches zero.

World Time Mode: This mode allows you to view the time in 59 preset cities, displaying the city name, initial code, and UTC offset. You can also toggle Daylight Saving Time (DST) for the selected city, which adjusts the time by one hour. The time zone setting range is from GMT -13:00 to +13:00.

Sensor Mode: The watch integrates multiple sensors to provide detailed environmental and activity data.

  • Pedometer: Tracks steps, distance, and calories burned. You can set a target goal for distance, steps, or calories. It records moving time, measures distance up to 99 km, and speed up to 65 km/h. It also stores up to 30 trip point data and 10 peak points.
  • Altimeter: Measures altitude with a resolution of 1m (1ft) within a range of -706m to 9164m (-2316ft to 30067ft). It samples data every second for the first 5 minutes, then every minute.
  • Barometer: Measures air pressure with a resolution of 300 hPa/mbar to 1100 hPa/mbar (8.85 inHg to 32.48 inHg). It records data every second for the first 5 minutes, then every minute, and stores up to 24 hours of history.
  • Thermometer: Measures temperature with a resolution of 0.1 °C (0.1°F) within a range of -10.0 °C to 60.0 °C (14.0 °F to 140.0 °F).
  • Compass Mode: Provides 16 digital compass directions and measures bearings from 0° to 359° digitally. It also features digital bearing lock, digital backward bearing, and declination setting with a range of +90° to -90°.

Usage Features

Navigation and Display: The watch features a clear LCD display that shows various data points depending on the selected mode. Buttons are intuitively laid out for mode selection, sensor activation, start/stop functions, lap/reset, and backlight activation. The [M] button cycles through Current Time, Daily Alarm, Timer, and World Time modes. The [S] button switches between timekeeping and sensor menus, and within sensor modes, it navigates between Trip, Barometer, and Compass modes. The [S/S] button activates start/stop functions in Timer and Trip modes, selects current city time, and increases setting values. The [L/R] button activates the 'Reload' function in Timer mode, decreases setting values, and toggles Daylight Saving Time. The [EL] button turns on the backlight for approximately 3 seconds.

Setting and Calibration: Most settings, such as current time, alarm times, and user-defined timer values, are adjusted by holding the [M] button to enter setting display, then using [M] to select items and [S/S] or [L/R] to change values. The compass requires calibration for accurate readings, which involves a rotation process. Magnetic declination can also be set to compensate for the difference between magnetic north and true north, with a table of major cities provided for reference.

Trip Functionality: The watch monitors and records physical activity using a 3-axis accelerometer. Users can select a trip goal (steps, distance, or calories). The trip can be started and stopped with the [S/S] button. During a trip, the highest peak point is automatically saved. Trip data, including absolute altitude, lap step, lap distance, lap time, lap calories burnt, and lap average speed, can be recorded as trip points and recalled later. The watch also supports smart lap by distance, saving trip points at preset distance intervals.

Weather Forecast: A unique feature of the watch is its ability to predict coming weather by analyzing past air pressure changes. It displays one of five symbols: Sunny, Cloudy with Sun, Cloudy, Raining, or Storm. For accurate predictions, it's recommended to stay at the same altitude for at least 24 hours. A storm alert feature can be activated, which triggers a 30-second beep and a storm icon when stormy weather is predicted.

Power Saving Mode: To conserve battery life, the watch includes a Power Saving Function that turns off the LCD display. All watch functions continue to operate normally in this mode. It can be entered by holding the [L/R] button in Current Time Mode for about 5 seconds and exited by pressing any button.

Maintenance Features

Battery Replacement: The watch indicates a low battery with a specific icon. It is recommended to replace the CR2032 battery with a certified service agency, as the watch contains precise electronic sensors and components. The memory will be cleared if the battery is replaced, requiring recalibration of the compass.

Cleaning: Regular cleaning with a soft cloth is advised to ensure a longer lifespan for the watch.

Environmental Precautions: Users should avoid exposing the watch to extreme conditions for unreasonable periods, rough usage, or severe impacts. It should not be opened unless by a certified service agency. Keep the watch away from magnets or appliances containing magnetic objects, such as mobile phones, speakers, and motors, to prevent interference with the compass. Store the watch in a dry place when not in use.

Temperature Reading Accuracy: For an accurate air temperature reading, it is important to remove the watch from the wrist for 20-30 minutes to eliminate any body temperature effects.
