Do you have a question about the Lamona HJA2500 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document provides user instructions for the Lamona Stainless Steel and Glass Chimney Extractor, available in two models: HJA2500 (90cm) and HJA2420 (60cm). It covers essential information for safe and proper use, installation, operation, and maintenance of the appliance.
The Lamona Stainless Steel and Glass Chimney Extractor is designed to remove unwanted cooking odours, steam, and condensation from your kitchen. It offers two primary methods of air extraction:
Ducting Mode (Extraction to the Outside): This is considered the most effective method for cleaning kitchen air. In this mode, the extractor connects to an exhaust duct that vents directly to the outside atmosphere, typically via a ceiling or exterior wall. When operating in ducting mode, charcoal filters are not required. This method ensures that odours and steam are completely removed from the kitchen environment.
Recirculating Mode (Internal Recirculation): For installations where external venting is not feasible, the extractor can operate in recirculating mode. In this setup, air is drawn into the hood, passed through charcoal filters to minimise odours, and then recirculated back into the kitchen. While effective at reducing odours, it's important to note that this method does not remove steam or condensation from the room.
The extractor is equipped with a motor that can operate at three different speeds, allowing users to adjust the extraction power according to their cooking needs. It also features integrated halogen lamps to illuminate the cooking area beneath the hood.
Operating the Lamona extractor is straightforward, with controls designed for ease of use:
Extractor Controls: The control panel features a series of buttons for managing the extractor's functions:
Grease Filters: The extractor includes metallic grease filters that are crucial for trapping airborne grease particles. These filters are designed to be easily removable for cleaning. To remove a grease filter, you simply press a latch towards the side of the extractor and then lower the filter. It is important to ensure these filters are always in position when operating the extractor to prevent grease build-up within the appliance and maintain its efficiency.
Carbon Filters (for Recirculating Mode): If the extractor is installed in recirculating mode, it requires carbon filters. These filters are responsible for absorbing cooking odours before the air is returned to the kitchen. They are attached to the sides of the motor inside the hood. Accessing them involves first removing the grease filters.
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity, efficiency, and safe operation of your Lamona extractor. The manual provides clear guidelines for cleaning and part replacement:
