APPLYING THE BRAKES
SECTION 9.24:
ADJUSTING HEIGHT OF
PUSH HANDLE
To apply the brakes on an indoor chassis,
apply pressure with your foot to the brake
pedal
, until a click is heard. Repeat for all
four castors. To release the brakes, tap the
top of the brake pedal with your foot so that
the pedal flips back to its original, standard
position.
To adjust the height of the push handle, rotate
to loosen both the locking levers
, on the
push handle tubes and raise or lower to the
desired position. Rotate the locking levers to
tighten into position.
To apply the brakes on an indoor/outdoor
chassis or large high-low chassis, push down
on the push-pull manual brake lever
,
located at the front of the back wheel. To
release, pull up on the lever. There are no
front wheel brakes on an indoor/outdoor
chassis or large high-low chassis.
To apply the brakes on a mobility base refer
to the manufacturer’s instructions.
