1. Keep the Door Chime dry. If the Door Chime gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids might contain
minerals that can corrode electronic circuits. 2. Use and store the Door Chime only in normal temperature
environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries and
distort or melt plastic parts. 3. Handle the Door Chime gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage
the circuit boards and can cause the Door Chime to work improperly. 4. Keep the Door Chime away
from dust or dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts. 5. Wipe the Door Chime with a damp cloth
occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents
to clean the chime.6. Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type. Always remove old or
weak batteries. They can leak chemicals that can destroy electronic circuits. 7. Modifying or tampering
with the Door Chime’s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty.
Please read all instructions carefully before installation and use.

Overview

This document describes the HPM Wireless Door Chime, model D642/01, a battery-operated device designed to alert users to visitors. It is a "Neighbour friendly" system, meaning each door chime and bell press pair is factory preset to communicate on one of over 19,000 unique channels, preventing false triggering or interference.

Function Description:

The HPM Wireless Door Chime serves as an easy and convenient solution for knowing when someone is at your door. When the push button on the Bell Press Transmitter is pressed, the Door Chime Receiver will sound and its indicator light will flash. The system is designed for ease of use and portability, with the receiver being able to be placed anywhere in the house or carried via a belt clip.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Bell press supply voltage: 3 V d.c.
  • Transmission frequency: 433.05 MHz - 434.79 MHz
  • Operating range: Up to 50 m (maximum)
  • Receiver battery voltage: 3 V d.c.
  • Sound level: 80 dB
  • Door chime receiver battery requirement: 2 x 'AA' batteries (not supplied)
  • Bell press transmitter battery requirement: 1 x 3 V CR2032 Lithium battery (supplied)
  • Melodies: 32 selectable melodies
  • Weather resistance: Bell press is weather resistant.
  • Flashing light: Included on the receiver.

Usage Features:

  • Pre-installation testing: Before permanent fixing, it is recommended to test the location of both units to ensure satisfactory operation.
  • Placement considerations: The Bell Press transmitter should not be mounted on metal, near a metal door frame, security door, or in close proximity to any metal outdoor furniture, as this can substantially reduce the range. Both units should be more than 1 meter from the floor.
  • Door Chime Receiver installation:
    • To install batteries, depress the tab on the receiver to remove the back cover plate and insert 2 x 'AA' batteries, ensuring correct polarity (coil springs contact the negative end).
    • The receiver is portable but can also be fixed to a wall using the provided mounting screws and wall plugs, or simply hooked onto a screw via its slotted hang hole for easy removal or relocation.
  • Bell Press Transmitter installation:
    • If using for the first time, pull out the plastic film to activate the battery.
    • Press the push button to ensure the Red LED indicator lamp lights, confirming the battery is working.
    • Fix the unit to the front door or a nearby position using the provided double-sided tape or mounting screws. If using screws, the back cover must be removed, fixed to the wall, and then reattached.
    • A safety screw must be installed after replacing the battery.
    • The Bell Press is suitable for outdoor use, but for best performance and longer life, it should not be exposed to direct sunlight or rain.
  • Tone Selection: The tone selector is located in the Bell Press Transmitter. To change the melody, remove the name plate on the Bell Press, then press and hold the black selector until the desired chime is reached, and release.
  • Typical Applications: Visitor alert, panic button, pager.

Maintenance Features:

  • General care:
    • Keep the Door Chime dry; wipe it immediately if it gets wet to prevent corrosion.

    • Wipe the Door Chime with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.
  • Battery care:
    • Use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type.
    • Always remove old or weak batteries to prevent chemical leaks that can destroy electronic circuits.
    • Do not use rechargeable batteries, and do not mix old and new batteries or different types. Alkaline batteries are recommended for longer operating life in the receiver.
    • Do not leave exhausted batteries in the Door Chime Receiver or Bell Press Transmitter.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • No sound: Check and replace Door Chime Receiver batteries (2 x AA) if flat. Check and replace Bell Press Transmitter battery (1 x CR2032) if the red indicator light is not illuminated.
    • Out of range: Operate the chime unit within the 50-meter range.
    • Incorrect battery polarity: Re-insert battery with correct polarity.
    • Interference: Relocate the Door Chime Receiver closer to the Bell Press. Relocate the Bell Press away from metal structures or the ground.
    • Changed chime: If the selected chime has changed after battery replacement, refer to the "tone selection" instructions.
  • Warning: This product contains a coin battery. If swallowed, a lithium coin battery can cause severe or fatal injuries within 2 hours. Keep batteries out of reach of children. If a child is suspected of having swallowed or inserted a button battery, seek medical attention immediately (call 24 Hour Poisons Information Center on 131126 in Australia). Dispose of used button/coin batteries immediately by taping both sides and disposing of them safely, out of reach of children.
  • Modifications: Modifying or tampering with the Door Chime's internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty.
