WhatisCRUandCRUservice
ACRU(customerreplaceableunit)isaservicepartthatcanbereplacedbythecustomerinordertofixa
computerproblem.TherearetwotypesofCRUs:
Self-serviceCRUsCustomersareresponsibleforremovingand
replacingCRUs.
Optional-serviceCRUsCustomersmayeitherreplaceCRUsontheirown
orrequestLenovooritsServiceProvidertodoit
forthem.
CRUserviceisaserviceprovidedbyLenovooritsServiceProvider.UnderCRUservice,Lenovoorits
ServiceProvidershipsCRUstothecustomer.Thecustomerisresponsibleforremovingandtheninstalling
CRUsaccordingtoinstructionsprovidedhereortheinstructionsaccompanyingtheCRUs.Thecustomer
mayberequiredtoreturnthedefectivepartthatisreplacedbythereplacement.Whenreturnisrequired:
•returninstructions,aprepaidreturnshippinglabel,andacontainerwillbeincludedwiththereplacement
CRU.
•thecustomermaybechargedforthereplacementCRUiftheServiceProviderdoesnotreceivethe
defectiveCRUwithinthirtydaysofthecustomer’sreceiptofthereplacementCRU.
