longabatterychargewilllast.Therearetwomainfactors:
•Howmuchenergyisstoredinthebatterywhenyoubegintowork.
•Thewayyouuseyourcomputer:howoftenyouaccesstheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive;how
brightyoumakethecomputerdisplay.

Usingtheacpoweradapter
Thepowertorunyourcomputercancomeeitherfromthelithium-ion(Li-ion)batterypackprovidedwithit,
orfromacpowerthroughtheacpoweradapter.
Theacpoweradapterthatcomeswithyourcomputerhastwobasiccomponents:
•Thetransformerpackthatconvertsacpowerforusewiththecomputer.
•Thepowercordthatplugsintotheacoutletandintothetransformerpack.
Attention:Usinganimproperpowercordcouldcauseseveredamagetoyourcomputer.
Connectingtheacpoweradapter
Tousetheacpoweradapter,dothefollowing.
Note:Ensurethatyoutakethesestepsinthegivenorder.
1.Plugthepowercordintoanelectricaloutlet.
2.Connectthepowercordtothetransformerpack.
3.Connecttheacpoweradaptertotheacpowerconnectorofthecomputer.
Tipsonusingtheacpoweradapter
•Whentheacpoweradapterisnotinuse,disconnectitfromtheelectricaloutlet.
•Donotbindthepowercordtightlyaroundtheacpoweradaptertransformerpackwhenitisconnectedto
thetransformer.
•Beforeyouchargethebattery,makesurethatitstemperatureisatleast10°C(50°F).
•Youcanchargethebatterywhentheacpoweradapterisconnectedtothecomputerandthebatteryis
installed.Youneedtochargeitinanyofthefollowingconditions:
–Anewbatteryisinstalled.
–Thepercentageofpowerremainingislow.
–Thebatteryhasnotbeenusedforalongtime.
Chargingthebattery
Whenyoundthatthepercentageofpowerremainingisloworwhenthepoweralarmgoesoff,youneedto
chargeyourbatteryorreplaceitwithachargedbattery.
