1.Usethemini-SAStomini-SASsignalcable.Connectthemini-SASconnector1totheport0onthe
RAIDcard.Then,connectthemini-SASconnector2tothemini-SASports0-3onthebackplane.
2.Ifyourserverhasmorethanfourharddiskdrivesinstalled,usetheothermini-SAStomini-SAS
signalcable.Connectthemini-SASconnector3totheport1ontheRAIDcard.Then,connectthe
mini-SASconnector
4tothemini-SASports4-7onthebackplane.
•IfyouareusingaThinkServerRAID700Adapter,dothefollowing:
1.Useonemini-SAStomini-SASsignalcable.Connectthemini-SASconnector3totheports3-0on
theRAIDcard.Then,connectthemini-SASconnector4tothemini-SASports0-3onthebackplane.
2.Ifyourserverhasmorethanfourharddiskdrivesinstalled,usetheothermini-SAStomini-SASsignal
cable.Connectthemini-SASconnector

ConnectingcablesfromtheRAIDcardtotheexpandercard,andthenfromthe

Tosupportmorethaneightandupto123.5-inchharddiskdrivesorupto162.5-inchharddiskdrives,your
servermusthaveasupportedRAIDcardandanexpandercardinstalled.Youneedtoconnectcablesfrom
theRAIDcardtotheexpandercard,andthenfromtheexpandercardtothebackplanes.
UsethefollowinginstructionstoconnectcablesfromtheRAIDcardtotheexpandercardfirst:
•IfyouareusingaThinkServerRAID500Adapter,dothefollowing:
1.Useamini-SAStomini-SASsignalcableandconnectthemini-SASconnectorononeendofthe
cabletotheport0ontheThinkServerRAID500Adapter.Then,connectthemini-SASconnectoron
theotherendofthecabletotheconnector1ontheexpandercard.
