Internal storage
The RS140 server supports the following internal storage configurations:
Two 3.5-inch large form factor (LFF) SAS/SATA NHS drive bays
Four 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF) SAS/SATA NHS drive bays
The following figure shows the drive bays configurations.

# RAID 100 is an onboard hardware-assist RAID controller.
* RAID 5 upgrade key for RAID 500 Adapter (0A89464).
† Battery backup upgrade for RAID 700 Adapter (0A89463).
ThinkServer RAID 100 is an onboard RAID controller that does not consume a PCIe slot. The RAID 500, RAID
700, and 8885e adapters are supported in the PCIe expansion slot.
Important: RAID 100 is not supported by virtualization hypervisors, including VMware vSphere (ESXi), Linux
KVM, Xen, and Microsoft Hyper-V.
