1. Prepare your server. See “Preparing your server and removing the server cover” on page 41.
2. Remove the front bezel. See “Removing the front bezel” on page 42.
3. If there is a metal shield covers the drive bay, remove the metal shield. Save the metal shield in case that
you later remove the drive and need the metal shield to cover the drive bay.
4. If needed, remove the drive bay retainer from the server. Push the retainer downwards to unlock it and
then lift it out of the chassis.

5. Install the retainer on the side of the tape drive.

6. Hold the tape drive in correct orientation and then slide it into the drive bay until it snaps into position.
