2. Remove the front bezel. See “Removing the front bezel” on page 42.
3. If there is a metal shield covers the drive bay, remove the metal shield. Save the metal shield in case that
you later remove the drive and need the metal shield to cover the drive bay.
4. Flex the sides of the drive bracket and align pins
1 , 2 , 3 , and 4 on the bracket with the corresponding
holes in the drive. Do not touch the circuit board
5 on the bottom of the drive.

5. Install the drive into the 5.25-inch convertor kit.
Squeeze the release buttons as shown to open the rear cover of the convertor kit.
Slide the drive into the convertor kit until it snaps into position. Then, close the rear cover.

6. If needed, remove the drive bay retainer from the server. Push the retainer downwards to unlock it and
then lift it out of the chassis.
