4. Grasp the PCIe card and gently pull it out of the slot.
Note: If the card is secured by a retaining clip, disengage the card retaining clip first.

5. Install a new PCIe card or install a PCIe card slot bracket to cover the place.
6. If you are instructed to return the old PCIe card, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging
materials that are supplied to you for shipping.
Installing a PCIe card
To install a PCIe card, do the following:
1. Prepare your server. See “Preparing your server and removing the server cover” on page 41.
2. At the rear of the server, press the release button
1 to open the PCIe card latch 2 .
