12.WhentheInstallationSettingswindowopens,dooneofthefollowingtoselectorcreateadrivepartition
onwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperatingsystem:
•Automaticallycreateapartition
Ifyouwanttousetheentireharddiskdriveasoneprimarypartition,checkthepartitioninginformation
oftheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperatingsystemandthenclickInstall.When
theinstallationcompletes,apartitionwillbecreatedautomatically.
•Manuallycreatearootpartition(/)
Tocreatearootpartition,dothefollowing:
a.ClickPartitioning.
b.InthePreparingHardDiskwindow,selectCustomPartitioning(forexperts)andclickNext.
c.IntheExpertPartitionerwindow,selecttheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstallthe
operatingsystemintheSystemViewarea.Then,clickAdd.
d.Whenawindowopenspromptingyoutoselectapartitiontype,selectPrimaryPartitionand
clickNext.
e.Typetheamountofspace(inMBorGB)intheCustomSizeeldandclickNext.
f.IntheFormattingOptionsarea,selectExt3fromtheFilesystemdrop-downlistbox.
g.IntheMountOptionsarea,select/fromtheMountPointdrop-downlistbox.
h.ClickAccept.
•Manuallycreateaswappartition

MountPointsettingintheMountOptionsareawillbeautomaticallychangedtoSwap.
g.ClickAccept.
13.IntheInstallationSettingswindow,clickSoftwaretoselectsoftwareprogramsofyourchoice.Then,
clickOK.
14.WhentheYaSTwindowopens,clickAccept.
15.ClickInstalltoinstallthesoftwareprograms.WhentheYaST2windowopens,clickInstalltoconrm
theinstallation.Theinstallationprocessbegins.
16.Whentheinstallationprocessnishes,theserverwillrestartautomatically.Setyourrootuserpassword
andthenclickNext.
Note:Thepasswordshouldhaveatleasteightcharactersinlengthandbeacombinationofupper
caseletters,lowercaseletters,andnumbers.
17.Continuewiththeinitialcongurationoftheserverbyfollowingtheinstructionsonthescreento
completetheinstallation.
