What to do if Lenovo ThinkSystem D3284 computer does not recognize the enclosure system?
    • P
      Peter SpencerAug 9, 2025
If your computer isn't recognizing the Lenovo Storage enclosure system, there are several things you can check: * Ensure that the interface cables connecting the enclosure to the host computer are correctly fitted. * For 2U enclosures, make sure the LEDs on all installed drive carrier modules are green. For 5U84 enclosures, check that the DDIC Drive Fault LED is not amber. * Confirm that the drive carrier modules are correctly installed. * Check any visible SAS indicators (RBOD, EBOD, and HBA). * Check HBA BIOS for SAS target visibility. * Make sure the operating system driver has been installed correctly.

Why Lenovo ThinkSystem D3284 Ops panel Module Fault LED is amber and Fan Fail LED is illuminated?
    • B
      bakerpatrickAug 25, 2025
If the Ops panel Module Fault LED is amber and the Fan Fail LED is illuminated on one or more PCMs of your Lenovo Storage, it means the internal temperature exceeds a preset threshold for the enclosure. Verify that the local ambient environment temperature is within the acceptable range. Check the installation for any airflow restrictions at either the front or back of the enclosure. A minimum gap of 25 mm (1") at the front and 50 mm (2") at the rear is recommended. Check for restrictions due to dust build-up and clean as appropriate. Check for excessive re-circulation of heated air from rear to front. It is not recommended to use the enclosure in a fully enclosed rack. If possible, shut down the enclosure and investigate the problem before continuing.
