4 Mechanical installation
4.1 Important notes
¯ Ensure standstill of the drive system and prevent any machine movement.
¯ The geared motor must be deenergised and the connecting cables must be
removed.
¯ The geared motor must have cooled down.
4.2 Dismounting the components
4.2.1 Preparation
Stop!
Before dismounting the motor, the oil filling of the gearbox must be
drained. For subsequent filling of the gearbox g500 mounting
instructions − lubricant change.
Tip!
If the drive is arranged vertically (mounting position C − motor at the top),
draining the lubricant is not absolutely required.
Check the position and state of possible breather elements in order to avoid oil leakage
via the ventilation unit by tilting the drive. If required, shut the breather elements.
For temporarily shutting the vent holes, depending on whether you are dealing with size
M12x1.5 or M16x1.5, screw plugs are required.
4.2.2 Dismounting
For versions with an angled retaining clip ( 22), a special dismounting clip is required,
which can be procured via the Lenze Service.
The following steps for dismounting individually differ due to the different masses of
the motor and gearbox. Basically, the lighter component should be rotated, and the
heavier component should be fastened.
1. Dismount the geared motor from the machine.
2. Drain oil, gearbox mounting instructions
3. Fix the drive in place so that it cannot turn, i.e. either the gearbox or the motor
must be fitted, clamped or secured in such a way that it is not turned when the
other components are released.
¯ Motor frame size £ 090: fasten gearbox so that it cannot turn and secure it so that
it won’t tilt.
¯ Motor frame size > 090: fasten motor so that it cannot turn and secure it so that it
won’t tilt.
