ENGINE TRANSMISSION OPERATION
a ) Check that the engine will not start if the shift lever is in
any other range except for “P” or “N” position.
b ) Check that the shift lever cannot be moved from the “P”
position without depressing the brake pedal.
c ) Check for smooth up-shift and down-shift operation over
a broad range of driving conditions.
d ) Check for smooth up-shift and down-shift operation
when the shift lever is in the “S” range.
• Check that the transmission shifts up when the shift
lever is moved front.
• Check that the transmission shifts down when the shift
lever is moved back.
ENGINE SYSTEM OPERATION WHILE
DRIVING
a ) Check engine performance over a broad range of
driving conditions including acceleration, cruising and
deceleration.
b ) Make sure engine operation is smooth and responsive.
c ) Make sure the gauges, speedometer and tachometer
indicator operations are smooth and accurate.
CENTER DIFFERENTIAL SWITCH
Check that the indicator light and the multi-information
display indicator come on when the switch is pressed.
