Why is my LEYBOLD DRYVAC DV 450 extremely loud?
    • T
      Taylor MorrisAug 27, 2025
If your LEYBOLD Water Pump is making excessive noise, it could be due to several reasons. Bearing damage, thick particle deposits, or a defective silencer can all contribute to a loud pump. In the case of bearing damage, repair the pump. For particle deposits, clean the pump and perform maintenance. If the silencer is defective, repair it. Also, high gas throughput with the discharge line open and without a silencer can cause the pump to be extremely loud, so install a discharge line or silencer.

Why is LEYBOLD Water Pump so loud?

      johnsullivanSep 4, 2025
If your LEYBOLD Water Pump is too loud, several issues might be the cause. A defective motor stator or rotor, small distances between the housing and rotors due to contamination or distortion, bearing or gear damage, pistons making contact with the housing, an untrue rotor, the oil slinger disc making contact with the gear housing or oil pipe, or a blocked or defective oil pump could all be responsible. For motor stator or rotor issues, bearing or gear damage, pistons contacting the housing, an untrue rotor, or a blocked/defective oil pump, contact Leybold Service and immediately shut down the pump. If the distances between housing and rotors are too small, clean the pumping chamber. For the oil slinger disc, contact Leybold Service.

What to do if LEYBOLD DRYVAC DV 450 does not start?
    • J
      Jessica HodgesSep 12, 2025
If your LEYBOLD Water Pump isn't starting and shows EF2, EF3, or 100FT on the frequency converter, it could be due to several reasons. The motor might be incorrectly connected, so ensure it is connected correctly. Other potential causes include a defective overtemperature switch or motor stator, a defective pressure switch (in which case, replace it), lubricant that is too thick (exchange or warm up the lubricant), a defective motor rotor, or the pump has seized due to defective impellers, bearings, or toothed gears. For issues with the motor stator or rotor, or if the pump has seized, contact Leybold Service.

Why does my LEYBOLD Water Pump get too hot?
    • C
      Charles RobersonNov 11, 2025
If your LEYBOLD Water Pump is overheating, indicated by PT1000 or dwFL on the frequency converter, several factors could be responsible. Insufficient cooling water supply, clogged cooling water lines, or a clogged filter insert in the pressure reducer can cause overheating. Ensure a sufficient cooling water supply, decalcify the cooling water lines, and clean the filter insert. Additionally, high ambient temperature or obstructed cooling air flow, operation in the wrong pressure range, or high gas temperature can contribute to this issue. Install the pump in a suitable location, check pressure levels, and inspect the system. Contamination or distortion can reduce clearance between housing and rotors; clean the pumping chamber. High friction due to contaminated bearings or lubricant require...
