      The remote control may not work properly for several reasons: * Ensure the remote control is pointed at the remote sensor on the unit. * Make sure the remote control is not too far from the unit. * Check for any obstacles between the remote control and the unit. * Replace the batteries in the remote control if they are exhausted. * If you recently replaced the batteries, the remote’s manufacturer code may have returned to the default setting; in this case, reset the code (page 65).

      If the connected HDMI device does not display any picture, try the following: * Disconnect and then reconnect the HDMI cable. * Switch the power of the HDMI device off and then back on. * Ensure the video input of the connected device is set correctly for this unit. * Verify that the HDMI cable you are using is fully HDMI-compliant. * Note that not all HDCP-compatible DVI devices will work with this unit.

      The connected HDMI device may not output sound because: * Some HDMI-compatible devices do not output sounds (check the manual that came with the connected device). * If your TV is not capable of handling 96 kHz sampling frequency, set the [Sampling Freq.] option to [48 kHz] on the setup menu. * If your TV is not equipped with Dolby Digital and MPEG decoder, set the [Dolby Digital] and [MPEG] options to [PCM] on the setup menu. * If your TV is not equipped with DTS decoder, set the [DTS] options to [OFF] on the setup menu.

      Stereo audio record and playback might not be present if: * Your TV is not Stereo-compatible. * The broadcast programme is not in stereo format. * The A/V Output jacks on the unit are not connected to TV A/V In jacks.

      If your unit does not start playback, consider the following: * Ensure that you have inserted a playable disc, verifying the disc type, color system, and regional code. * Place the disc with the playback side down. * Make sure the disc is placed correctly on the disc tray inside the guide. * Try cleaning the disc. * Cancel the Rating function or change the rating level.

    Why does my LG RCT699H timer record not record successfully?

      Timer recording may fail if: * The clock is not set to the correct time. * The start time of the timer recording is in the past. * Two timer recordings overlap (only the earlier one will record completely). * The recorder’s built-in tuner is not set when setting the recording programme (ensure it's not the TV’s built-in tuner). * The inserted disc is damaged.

      The recorder may fail to record even with the timer set if: * There is no disc loaded. * A non-recordable disc is loaded. * Disc Protect is set to [ON] in the Disc menu (see page 33). * There are already 99 titles (DVD-RW, DVD-R), 49 titles (DVD+RW, DVD+R(DL)) recorded on the disc.
