This document is a user's guide for the LG W1952S and W2252S monitors, providing instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance, along with important safety precautions and technical specifications.
Function Description
The LG W1952S and W2252S are flat panel active matrix-TFT LCD monitors designed for displaying computer output. They feature an On Screen Display (OSD) control system for adjusting image size, position, and operating parameters. The monitors include a "Self Image Setting Function" that automatically adjusts display settings for optimal viewing, particularly useful when connecting for the first time or after changing screen resolution. A dedicated "AUTO/SET" button is available for quick image adjustment to ideal settings for the current screen resolution. The monitors also incorporate "f-ENGINE" technology, which allows users to select optimized image conditions based on the environment (ambient illumination, image types) or customize settings for movies, internet browsing, or personal preferences. Special features like "EZ ZOOMING" enable quick resolution changes for magnifying text and images, which can be beneficial for users with impaired vision. "PHOTO EFFECT" offers various display modes such as Gaussian Blur, Sepia, and Monochrome to alter the visual style of the screen. A "JINGLE" function allows for turning the buzzer sound on or off for various events like power on/off or menu interactions.

Usage Features
- Stand Assembly: The monitor stand is assembled in multiple steps, involving attaching the stand body to the product, then the stand base (front and rear) to the stand body, and finally inserting a cable deco cover. Disassembly is also detailed.
- Positioning: The display panel can be tilted from -5° to 20° for ergonomic viewing. It is recommended to keep the forward tilt angle within 5 degrees for comfort.
- Connectivity: Connects to a computer via a D-sub cable (VGA). Mac users may require a separate plug adapter. The power cord connects to an AC-IN port.
- Power On/Off: A dedicated power button is used to turn the display on or off.
- Control Panel: Features buttons for FUN (EZ ZOOMING, 4:3 IN WIDE, PHOTO EFFECT, JINGLE), BRIGHTNESS adjustment, MENU (OSD access), directional arrows for navigation, and AUTO/SET.
- OSD Control Adjustment:
- Screen Adjustment: Adjusts image size, position, and operating parameters. Users are advised to allow the display to stabilize for 30 minutes before making adjustments.
- Main Menu Items:
- EZ ZOOMING: Adjusts resolution for magnification.
- 4:3 IN WIDE: Selects image size (wide or 4:3 aspect ratio).
- PHOTO EFFECT: Applies visual effects like Gaussian Blur, Sepia, or Monochrome.
- JINGLE: Controls buzzer sound for various events.

Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: Unplug the display before cleaning. Use a slightly damp (not wet) cloth. Avoid spraying aerosol directly on the screen to prevent electrical shock.
- Repacking: Retain the original carton and packing materials for safe transport if the unit needs to be moved.
- Disposal: The product contains a fluorescent lamp with mercury and should not be disposed of with general household waste. Disposal must comply with local authority regulations.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides guidance for common issues such as no image, power indicator status, "OUT OF RANGE" or "CHECK SIGNAL CABLE" messages, "OSD LOCKED" message, and incorrect display image (position, vertical bars, horizontal noise, color issues, blinking screen). It recommends checking cable connections, adjusting brightness/contrast, moving the mouse or pressing keys to exit power saving, configuring display settings to recommended resolutions, and installing display drivers.
- Optimal Resolution: The recommended aspect ratio is 16:10. Using other resolutions (e.g., 16:9, 5:4, 4:3) may result in blurred letters, screen flicker, or cut-off displays. Users are advised to adjust video card settings to the recommended resolution.
