Troubleshooting
YOUR INTERNET CABLE IS NOT PLUGGED IN MESSAGE
If you get a “Your Internet cable is not plugged in” message when trying to set up
your router:
.MakesurethatanEthernetorInternetcable(oracableliketheonesuppliedwith
your router) is securely connected to the yellow INTERNETportonthebackofthe
router and to the appropriate port on your modem. This port on the modem is usually
labeled Ethernet,butmaybenamedInternet or WAN.
.Makesurethatyourmodemisconnectedtopowerandisturnedon.Ifithasapower
switch,makesurethatitissettotheON or l position.
3.IfyourInternetserviceiscable,verifythatthecablemodem’sCABLE port is
connectedtothecoaxialcableprovidedbyyourISP.
4. Or,ifyourInternetserviceisDSL,makesurethattheDSLphonelineisconnectedto
the modem’s DSL port.
5.IfyourcomputerwaspreviouslyconnectedtoyourmodemwithaUSBcable,
disconnecttheUSBcable.
Install the router again.
CANNOT ACCESS YOUR ROUTER MESSAGE
Toaccessyourrouter,youmustbeconnectedtoyourownnetwork.Ifyoucurrently
havewirelessInternetaccess,theproblemmaybethatyouhaveaccidentally
connectedtoadifferentwirelessnetwork.
To Fix the Problem on Windows Computers:
.OnyourWindowsdesktop,right-clickthewirelessiconinthesystemtray.
Icon could be different depending on your version of Windows.
2.ClickView Available Wireless Networks.Alistofavailablenetworksappears.
