Overview

The Flow Max™ 40V Portable Power Cleaner, manufactured by Lippert Components®, is a versatile and portable power tool designed for effective cleaning of various marine and land products. This device is an aftermarket application, emphasizing ease and convenience in its operation.

Function Description:

The Flow Max™ 40V Portable Power Cleaner is engineered to provide high-pressure cleaning capabilities in a portable format. It utilizes a rechargeable 40V (2.0 Ah) lithium-ion battery pack to generate water pressure, eliminating the need for a continuous power outlet during use. The device is designed to tackle a range of cleaning tasks, from heavy-duty dirt removal to routine maintenance, by offering adjustable pressure settings and various nozzle configurations. It can draw water from a clean water source via a water supply hose with a particle filter, and it also supports the use of an additive bottle for applying cleaning solutions or creating foamy sprays.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Source: Rechargeable 40V (2.0 Ah) lithium-ion battery pack.
  • Pressure Settings:
    • AUTO (High Pressure) Mode: Develops 520 psi at 0.67 gpm flow. Provides approximately 18 minutes of run time and uses about 10 gallons of water (dispensing at approximately 0.55 gpm).
    • ECO (Low Pressure) Mode: Develops 320 psi at 0.53 gpm flow. Provides approximately 25 minutes of run time and uses about 12 gallons of water (dispensing at approximately 0.47 gpm).
  • Nozzles:
    • 6-position nozzle: Offers multiple spray patterns, including Zero-degree (0°), Twenty-degree (20°), Twenty-degree angle (20°), Forty-degree (40°), Foam mode, and Shower mode.
    • 360-degree nozzle: Designed for difficult-to-reach areas, capable of pivoting 180 degrees.
  • Additive Bottle: Integrates with the 6-position nozzle for dispensing cleaning solutions in Foam or Shower modes.
  • Water Supply: Connects to a clean water source via a water supply hose with an integrated particle filter.
  • Battery Indicator: Features a power level indicator with blue lights to show the existing charge level.
  • Safety Features: Trigger lock mechanism to prevent unintentional activation.

Usage Features:

The Flow Max™ Power Cleaner is highly adaptable, allowing for four different configurations to suit various cleaning needs:

  1. Handle assembly with 6-position nozzle: Standard configuration for general cleaning.
  2. Handle assembly with nozzle extension and 6-position nozzle: Extends reach for higher or further cleaning.
  3. Handle assembly with 360-degree nozzle: Ideal for intricate cleaning tasks in tight spaces.
  4. Handle assembly with nozzle extension and 360-degree nozzle: Combines extended reach with specialized nozzle capabilities.

Nozzle Operation:

  • 6-position nozzle: Attaches directly to the handle assembly or the nozzle extension by pressing and holding a lock button. The desired spray mode (0°, 20°, 20° angle, 40°, Foam, Shower) is selected by rotating the end of the wand assembly.
    • 0° mode: A single, steady stream for hard surfaces like concrete or steel. Caution is advised against using this on painted objects, soft wood, thin plastic, or fabric surfaces to prevent property damage.
    • 20° and 40° modes: Horizontal spread of water for broader cleaning.
    • Foam mode: Pulls material from the additive bottle and mixes it with water for a foamy spray.
    • Shower mode: Pulls material from the additive bottle for a cone-shaped stream of multiple water jets, similar to a shower head. LCI does not recommend using the additive bottle in Shower mode.
  • 360-degree nozzle: Attaches similarly to the 6-position nozzle. It is particularly useful for cleaning tough corners, tire rims, and wheel wells, with its ability to pivot 180 degrees.

Battery Usage:

  • The battery pack aligns with channels on the handle assembly and securely locks into place.
  • A power level indicator on the battery shows the charge status via blue lights when a yellow light icon is pressed.
  • The battery charger plugs into a 110V AC outlet, and its barrel end connects to the battery for recharging.

Water Supply:

  • The water supply line, equipped with a particle filter, is placed into a clean water source.
  • The quick disconnect fitting of the water supply line connects to the water inlet nipple on the handle assembly.
  • The particle filter should be regularly inspected and cleaned to prevent debris from entering the system.

Additive Bottle:

  • The additive bottle inserts onto a dedicated port on the 6-position nozzle and is secured by twisting.
  • It dispenses material only when the power cleaner is set to Foam or Shower mode.

Maintenance Features:

  • Pre-Storage Disassembly:
    • Engage the trigger lock.
    • Remove the water supply line from the source and inspect/clean the water filter.
    • Disconnect the water supply hose from the nozzle by squeezing arrows on the quick disconnect fitting.
    • Twist the additive bottle to the right to disengage it from the nozzle.
    • Set the power cleaner mode to Foam and pressure to ECO (low) to purge remaining water and additive.
    • Disengage the trigger lock and squeeze the trigger to cycle the power cleaner, then re-engage the trigger lock.
    • Remove the battery pack by pressing the two latching buttons inward.
    • If a nozzle extension was used, disconnect it from the handle assembly and the nozzle from the extension by pressing their respective lock buttons.
    • Position all nozzles and extensions to allow residual fluid to drain.
    • Allow all parts to dry completely before storage.
  • Cleaning: Use only a dry cloth to wipe the product clean. Avoid water or chemical solvents.
  • Storage: Store parts in the mesh bag provided. Avoid storing near fire or high-temperature sources. Do not expose the battery pack to water, heat, fire, or direct sunlight.
  • Filter Maintenance: Regularly inspect, remove, and clean water filters.
  • Troubleshooting: A dedicated section in the manual provides solutions for common issues like the washer not turning on, low water pressure, no additive dispensing, additive bottle leaks, or no spray. Users are advised to remove the battery pack before servicing and to contact Lippert Components for further assistance if needed.

Safety Precautions:

  • Always read and understand all instructions and adhere to safety labels.
  • Do not direct the operating power cleaner nozzle at people or pets due to high-pressure water jets.
  • Avoid operating near electrical power sources to prevent shock or burns.
  • Do not touch the electrical plug with wet hands.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye-wear, gloves, and shoes.
  • Do not use the zero-degree setting on delicate surfaces.
  • Do not use the power cleaner if it shows signs of damage or operational failure.
