Installation
Prior to Installation
Determine the location of the receiver on the unit. The receiver should be mounted toward the rear of the
unit. Lippert recommends a receiver mount height of around 10 feet for the 12.5 foot ladder and 12 feet for
the 14.5 foot ladder. This will allow the top ladder rungs to exceed the height of the unit, allowing the user
safe access to the roof of the unit.
To support the load of the ladder and ladder operator during use, minimum backing of 1/8” (3mm) for
aluminum tube or a nominal 2” x 2” (50mm x 50mm) for wood (of sufficient length) or an EGS galvanized
strip backer or a Lippert engineering approved equivalent must be installed into the backer within
the structure of the wall of the unit. Backers used for hanging awnings or used historically to mount
conventional ladders are inherently approved for use.
Receiver Installation
1. Park the unit on level and stable ground.
NOTE: If a ladder is required to install the receiver, make sure it is also on level and stable ground.
2. Determine the approximate location of the four mounting holes on the unit (Fig. 1A).

3. Using a reference that is parallel to the unit, such as the top of the wall or a window, use the ruler or
tape measure and position the receiver so that it is straight and parallel to the unit.
4. Mark this position with a non-permanent marking method.
5. Apply butyl tape (Fig. 1B) to the back of the receiver.
NOTE: Lippert recommends using butyl tape.
6. Align the receiver to the marked location on the unit.
7. Fasten the receiver to the unit with the four supplied fasteners (Fig. 1C).
