Overview

The Livoo Traditional Raclette Grill Melter is an appliance designed for melting cheese and grilling or warming food, offering a versatile and enjoyable culinary experience, particularly for raclette-style meals. This instruction manual provides comprehensive guidance for its safe and effective use, emphasizing the importance of reading all instructions thoroughly before the first use to prevent misuse, damage, or injury.

Function Description

The primary function of this appliance is to melt cheese for raclette and to grill or warm other food items. It features a heating element that melts cheese placed on a dedicated cheese holder, which can be adjusted in height to control the melting temperature. A grill plate is also included, allowing users to roast or warm food simultaneously. The device is designed for household and similar applications, making it suitable for staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast environments. It is not intended for continuous professional use.

Usage Features

The raclette grill melter is designed for ease of assembly and operation. Before initial use, users are instructed to assemble the parts using a hex wrench, with a small screw located in a small tube part. After assembly, it is recommended to clean the appliance with a soft damp cloth and operate it for 10 minutes without food in a well-ventilated room to remove any manufacturing residues.

To operate the appliance, the grill plate should be correctly positioned at the top. Cheese is then fixed onto the cheese holder, and its height can be adjusted using a holding screw to control the melting process. The appliance is turned on via a switch. The cheese rack can be moved up and down to fine-tune the melting temperature, which can also be controlled with a thermostat button. While the cheese melts, other food items can be placed on the grill plate for roasting or warming. Once the cheese is sufficiently grilled, the grill plate can be rotated away from the heater, allowing the melted cheese to be easily scraped off with a spatula. After use, the knob should be set to the MIN position, and the appliance unplugged.

Safety is a paramount consideration in the design and recommended usage of this appliance. Users are advised to place the appliance on a flat, dry, and stable surface. It should never be covered during use or moved when hot. The appliance is suitable for use by children aged 8 years and above, as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they receive supervision or instruction on safe use and understand the associated hazards. Children should not play with the appliance, and cleaning and user maintenance should only be performed by children older than 8 years and under supervision. The appliance and its cord must be kept out of reach of children younger than 8 years.

Contact with hot surfaces or heat sources, such as hotplates or hot ovens, should be avoided. A caution is issued regarding the high temperature of accessible surfaces during operation and the fact that the appliance remains very hot after use. It must always be allowed to cool down before storage or cleaning. The base of the appliance should never be immersed in water or any other liquid, and water must not enter the base. The product should not be used with wet hands or feet. Before connecting the appliance, users must ensure that the household voltage matches the voltage indicated on the appliance's nameplate.

The appliance is not designed to be operated by an external timer or a separate remote control system. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to prevent hazards. Users should not pull on the power cord or the unit itself to unplug it. The cord should not be allowed to hang over a table or counter or touch a hot surface. The socket must always remain accessible when the appliance is plugged in. The appliance should only be connected to a socket with a built-in earth connection. If an extension cord is used, it must also have a built-in earth connection and be capable of withstanding the appliance's power. It is crucial to ensure that no one is trapped inside. The appliance must be allowed to cool down before cleaning and storing.

The appliance should not be left unattended when plugged in or in operation. In case of malfunction, after use, or before cleaning, the appliance must always be unplugged. The manual should be kept with the appliance, and if the appliance is to be used by a third party, the instruction manual must be provided. The appliance is intended for private use only and must be used in the manner indicated in the instruction manual. Accessories not recommended by the manufacturer should not be used, as this may damage the appliance.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the cleanliness of the Livoo Traditional Raclette Grill Melter is essential, especially since it comes into direct contact with food. Users are advised to refer to the "cleaning" paragraph in the manual for specific instructions.

For cleaning and storage, it is crucial to avoid using wire brushes or any abrasive items or liquids. The plug must always be removed from the socket before cleaning, and the appliance must be completely cooled down. The cheese holder can be disassembled and cleaned with soapy water. The shell part and the base can be cleaned with a damp cloth, but they should never be immersed in water.

The device is not designed for continuous use, as it is not a professional device, and temporary stops are necessary during operation. It should never be used outdoors or left in a place exposed to bad weather and humidity.

The instruction manual also includes information on the correct disposal of the unit, adhering to the European Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal household waste stream but collected separately to optimize recovery and recycling of materials and reduce environmental impact. The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin reminds users of the obligation for separate collection. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information on proper disposal.
