5. Starter motor
1) Brush length
Check brush length and replace it if it is shorter than
service limit due to wear.

11.0 mm
6.0 mm
2) Continuity between commutator segments
Check for continuity between segments, if an open
circuit (on continuity) exists between any two
segments, replace the armature.
3) Continuity check - commutator-to-shaft
Check for continuity between the commutator and
armature shaft, Replace the armature if continuity
exists between any of the comrnutator segments and
the armature shaft
