Troubleshooting guide for LORENTZ ECDRIVE submersible
All specifications and information are given with good intent, errors are possible and products may be subject to change without notice.

The following list shows plausible failure on the motor based on the previously measured values:
Generally, the motor seems to work properly. However, this is no proof
for an intact motor. Perform a running test under load. If the motor is
still working properly, the failure probably has been resolved during
a much higher current
level
The increased current level is probably the result of a mechanical
damage inside the motor. However, if there are wrapped parts around
the shaft/coupling remove these parts carefully. The mechanical
damage is likely a damage on:
• Radial bearings
The reason for unsteady running is often an electrical loose contact. If
the cable splice and submersible cable are still connected, it is
recommended to redo the splicing. If the test has been performed
directly on the motor cable it is (economically) not repairable.
If the power source is too weak, this can be the reason why the motor
is running on lower RPM. Either an abnormal high power consumption
of the motor or a weak power source, e.g. due to low irradiation, can
lead to low speed. Please take into consideration the environmental
An electrical loose connection, e.g. on the cable splice, can be the
reason why the motor is not running. Therefore, it is recommended to
perform this test again by connecting the motor directly to the
controller. If the motor is still not running and the shaft is mechanically
not blocked, the defect is (economically) not repairable.
