Troubleshooting guide for LORENTZ ECDRIVE submersible
All specifications and information are given with good intent, errors are possible and products may be subject to change without notice.
Pictures may differ from actual products depending on local market requirements and regulations.
3.3 Mechanical damage at “rear bearing assembly” and “axial bearing”
Damage at the rear bearing assembly’s edges (often caused by levering with a screwdriver) is an
indicator that the motor was opened by unauthorized personnel.
Another indicator that the ECDRIVE has been disassembled by an
unauthorized person are pressure marks on the balance plate as
shown on the picture on the left-hand side.
If the surface of the ceramic ring of the rear bearing (pictures
above and on the right) is discolored after cleaning with
alcohol, the ceramic ring needs to be replaced. The smallest
particles can deposit on the bearing surface because the
surface lost its perfect smooth integrity. This means that it
got a little rough (not necessarily visible). Use your finger nail
to inspect the surface. In the colored areas, the surface will
be blunter than the reference material.
If there are grooves or scratches on the surface, these parts should be replaced. Hold the
components against the light and create reflections to detect damages. Run your finger nail across
the bearing to detect possible scratches on the surface.
