In this manual, safety messages are classified as follows:
WARNING
CAUTION
Throughout this manual we use the following two illustrations to make you aware of safety considerations:
Identifies potential hazards under certain conditions.
Read the message and follow the instructions carefully.
Identifies shock hazards under certain conditions.
Particular attention should be directed because dangerous voltage may be present.
Keep operating instructions handy for quick reference.
Read this manual carefully to maximize the performance of SV-iC5 series inverter and ensure its safe use.
WARNING
Do not remove the cover while power is applied or the unit is in operation.
Otherwise, electric shock could occur.
Do not run the inverter with the front cover removed.
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock due to high voltage terminals or charged capacitor
exposure.
Do not remove the cover except for periodic inspections or wiring, even if
the input power is not applied.
Otherwise, you may access the charged circuits and get an electric shock.
Wiring and periodic inspections should be performed at least 10 minutes
after disconnecting the input power and after checking the DC link voltage
is discharged with a meter (below DC 30V).
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock.
Operate the switches with dry hands.
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock.
Do not use the cable when its insulating tube is damaged.
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock.
Do not subject the cables to scratches, excessive stress, heavy loads or
pinching.
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock.
Improper operation may result in slight to medium personal injury
or property damage.
Improper operation may result in serious personal injury or death.

What to do if my LS Industrial Systems SV008iC5-1 shows overcurrent?
    • B
      Beth TurnerAug 16, 2025
If your LS Industrial Systems Inverter displays an overcurrent error, this could be due to several reasons. First, be cautious and ensure the cause is removed before restarting to prevent IGBT damage. Possible solutions include increasing the Accel/Decel time, replacing the inverter with one of appropriate capacity if the load is too great, or, if the motor was free running, resume operation after it stops, or use H22 (Speed search) in Function group 2. Also, check the output wiring for short circuits or ground faults, and inspect the mechanical brake of the motor if it's operating too fast.

Why is my LS Industrial Systems SV008iC5-1 overheating?
    • C
      Christina IngramAug 19, 2025
If your LS Industrial Systems Inverter's heat sink is overheating, it could be due to a few reasons. Check the cooling system for any obstructions clogging the heat sink. If the cooling fan is old, replace it with a new one. Also, ensure that the ambient temperature is under 40°C.

What causes LS Industrial Systems SV008iC5-1 overload and how to fix it?
    • J
      Joseph EwingAug 22, 2025
An overload in your LS Industrial Systems Inverter can occur if the load is greater than the inverter's rating, in which case you should upgrade the capacity of the motor and inverter or reduce the load weight. It may also happen if the inverter capacity is incorrectly selected, so ensure you select the correct capacity. Another possible cause is that the torque boost scale is set too high; try reducing it.

What to do if my LS Industrial Systems SV008iC5-1 shows low voltage?
    • G
      gonzalezalbertAug 26, 2025
If your LS Industrial Systems Inverter is showing a low voltage error, check whether the line voltage is below its rating. Also, verify if a load larger than the line capacity is connected to the line, such as a welding machine or a motor with high starting current. Adjust the line capacity accordingly. Finally, inspect the magnetic switch at the input side of the inverter and change it if it's faulty.

What causes ground fault current in LS Industrial Systems SV008iC5-1 Inverter?
    • S
      Sabrina HaneyAug 28, 2025
A ground fault current in your LS Industrial Systems Inverter can be caused by a ground fault at the output wiring of the inverter, so check the wiring of the output terminal. Another cause could be damaged motor insulation due to heat, in which case you should replace the motor.

Why does my LS Industrial Systems Inverter show an over voltage error?
    • D
      David BentleyAug 31, 2025
An over voltage error on your LS Industrial Systems Inverter can occur if the deceleration time is too short compared to the GD2 of the load, so increase the deceleration time. Another cause could be a regenerative load at the inverter output, in which case you should use a Dynamic Brake Unit. Also, check whether the line voltage exceeds its rating.

What to do if LS Industrial Systems Inverter cooling fan is not working?
    • A
      Anne CobbSep 3, 2025
If the cooling fan in your LS Industrial Systems Inverter is not working, check the ventilating slot for any alien substances and remove them. If the inverter has been in use for a while, replace the cooling fan.

What causes output phase loss in LS Industrial Systems Inverter?
    • A
      alexanderjonesSep 6, 2025
Output phase loss in your LS Industrial Systems Inverter can result from a faulty contact of the magnetic switch at the output, so make sure the connection is secure. It can also be caused by faulty output wiring, so check the wiring.

Why does my LS Industrial Systems SV008iC5-1 Inverter show electronic thermal error?
    • A
      Adrian LarsenSep 9, 2025
An electronic thermal error in your LS Industrial Systems Inverter can occur if the motor has overheated, so reduce the load weight and operating duty. It may also happen if the load is greater than the inverter rating, so replace the inverter with one of higher capacity. Ensure that the ETH level is appropriately set, and select the correct inverter capacity. If the inverter has been operated at low speed for too long, install a cooling fan with a separate power supply.

What does external fault A contact input mean on my LS Industrial Systems Inverter?
    • J
      James WalkerSep 12, 2025
The 'External fault A contact input' error on your LS Industrial Systems Inverter indicates that the terminal set to “18 (External fault-A)” or “19 (External fault-B)” in I20-I24 in I/O group is ON. To resolve this, eliminate the cause of the fault at the circuit connected to the external fault terminal or the cause of the external fault input.
